SKETCHBOOKS. why are they called sketchbooks when there is so much more that goes in them than sketches? here are some pages from my book for the opus visual studies module. no stitching samples in it, because this wasn't a stitching module. lots of glue and paper and paint and journaling of ideas and concepts. so now who thinks that sketchbooks are only for people who can draw?
by the way, i do highly recommend learning to draw. i just began learning how to draw a few years ago and it has made a BIG difference in many parts of my life.

These are great - I love looking at people's sketchbooks. Given the choice I would probably buy an artist's sketchbook rather than the finished artwork! love the page with circles on - you are making me want to do the Opus course! Is it the degree?
I am always confused and/or intimidated by the term 'sketchbook' since I have always been a needle artist and not one who draws. It's so good to see how others use notebooks to record their processes, ideas, samples, etc. I also appreciate the encouragement to take a basic drawing class. I need to... I'm afraid to... someday I will actually do it.

yes, i am in the degree program at opus - BA (hons). i am on the first module and have been enjoying the work alot. makes me think in ways that i wouldn't think on my own
